Facebook link from my template taking me to create a post

Last Updated: November 17, 2022

Why is my facebook link from my template taking me to create a post on my timeline and not my company’s facebook page?

There are two different types of social media links in the template editor - a regular link and a SHARE link.

The regular link takes you to facebook.com/companyname.

The SHARE link defaults to a URL that defaults to a SHARE action, which means that when you click it, it automatically starts a post on your timeline with the location linked to the post. It's like going to your facebook, updating your timeline, and tagging the salon in your post. You can tell a link is a SHARE link because it will have SHARE next to the name in the social media content properties box.

The template editor only allows 1 regular facebook link per social media block. If you have already have used the regular facebook link for their first location's link, the only option left is a Share-type link.

Our best practice recommendation is to create 2 separate social media link content blocks, one for each location.
