We take security very seriously but we also want to make sure you can navigate the software with speed. The logged in user's access is checked with each action, and if they do not have access, a "Security Checkpoint" pops up asking them to enter their credentials to perform the function. If the logged in user has access to secure functions, they will never see a password prompt (because SalonBiz already knows who they are). It's only the users that don't have access in SalonBiz that will be asked for their username/password or PIN.
Setting up a "generic" Front Desk staff member is a great way to keep your security checkpoints in place for shared computers.
- Add an employee as generic Front Desk user with no security access.
- The employees will need to be created in Classic version first and then added to Central.
- Log the front desk computers in with these generic users.
- Staff will be able to enter their unique PIN when they reach a secure area. This mimics the password entry in the classic version.
For example you can create Front1, Front2, and Front3 in classic with no assigned security group and then add in Central. You can log into Central as Front3 at your station. Then, whenever you need to book an appointment or process a ticket you will see the security check. You'll enter your PIN and move on while the station remains logged in as Front3.
